Since
1999, Chantal Helenbeck has developed partnerships with established
French and international contemporary artists that are based in and
around the French Riviera. In 2002, with a unique concept in mind, she
opened her first gallery in Nice.
The
concept of the original Helenbeck gallery was to commission artists to
work on couture clothing, accessories and furniture. The specific
furniture selected by Chantal Helenbeck, certified antique Louis XVI
and contemporary design from 1960, was often the reflection of a
particular period, highlighting the lifestyle of that time. The
commissioned artists kept this idea in mind while they transformed each
piece to create their own individual aesthetic.
In 2005, Helenbeck Gallery developed into a more conventional art gallery in Paris' Rue des Beaux-Arts, presenting to the public a unique blend of emerging and well established artists.
In 2008, Chantal Helenbeck partnered with Gismondi Gallery at 20, Rue Royale in Paris.
A
true laboratory for the emerging international art scene, Helenbeck
Gallery offers the public daring, high-quality exhibitions that go
above and beyond traditional European boundaries.
With Whole In The Wall, Chantal Helenbeck’s most
recent concept, the Helenbeck Gallery organizes ground-breaking art
exhibitions in the heart of the biggest cities of the world |
